Phish Tales

I attended my first Phish concert in 1992.

This was an all ages, free afternoon, 1-set show at the pond in front of the Fine Arts Center on the UMass campus. We drove up from New Jersey. The show took place on Mother’s Day and was part of the UMass Spring Concert aka the “Spring Fling.” Rippopatamus, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, fIREHOSE, Fishbone, and Beastie Boys also played – with Phish in the fourth slot followed by Fishbone and Beastie Boys. Buried Alive was teased during You Enjoy Myself and Possum contained The Simpsons and Fall Down secret language.
